The race will include 3 mandatory checkpoints.
The event calendar
Get ahead by arriving as early as possible at the race village to be able to start with complete peace of mind.
- Reception and control of equipment mandatory: Saturday June 21st from 2pm to 7pm.
- Pre-race briefing: 1 month before departure (video conference).
- Start of the race: Sunday June 22nd (time to be confirmed).
- Arrival Time limit: Friday June 27th.
- Closing meal: Thursday June 26th (time to be confirmed).
For your safety, you must take the following equipment with you in order to participate in the race. The organization will ensure that you are in possession of the mandatory equipment when checking in for athletes and bicycles.
- GPS tracker – provided by the organization
- 1x set of 4 spare AAA batteries (lithium) (for the GPS tracker)
- Bike GPS – Wahoo / Garmin type or equivalent
- 1x bicycle helmet
- 1x front light (with permanent mode)
- 1x rear light (with permanent mode)
- 1x bicycle pump (mandatory even when using tubeless tires)
- 1x inner tube + 1x repair kit (patch + glue + tire changer – mandatory even when using tubeless tires)
- Water bottles for a minimum capacity of 1.5l of water
- 1x pair of gloves
- Reflective clothing (eg: Audax vest, yellow safety vest…)
- 1x survival blanket
- 1x jacket or jersey with light rain protection, ideally with a hood
- Sunglasses with UV protection
- Mobile phone and charging device (eg: dynamo or USB battery)
- Identity document + paper or digital copy of it (ex: keep a copy of your passport or identity card on your personal cloud)
The Alpes-Maritimes and the Var have a network of sublime picturesque roads which are passable with an “endurance” type road bike. We recommend:
- A confortable road bike
- Tires of 25mm minimum width (use tubeless for more comfort)
- Front transmission single chainring or compact (50-34 teeth) or even sub-compact (48-31) and cassette (ideally) of 11-34 teeth for maximum comfort to go the distance
The official stage city
The race village, where the start and finish of the race will be held, is located in Valberg, 80 km from Nice on the French Riviera.
You will be able to camp there with your tent, come by van or camper van or sleep in the many accommodations available there. The city also provides BikingMan participants with access to showers and free parking during the event to facilitate your arrival and experience on site.
