Take on the challenge of the 555, our ultracycling event inspired by the IncaDivide with a mix of road, gravel and unique verticality. The course is a spectacular exploration of the Vercors massif over the space of a weekend.

Places are limited, be one of the first to put your gravel bike on this loop from Villard-de-Lans located 30 minutes from Grenoble.

About 555 Vercors

The fundamentals of 555

The 555 is a gravel-oriented pilot event that we designed in the heart of the vertiginous Vercors massif, a center of French resistance during the war. The objective is to offer you an extraordinary gravel experience with connecting segments mixing asphalt and gravel for the greatest pleasure of the eyes. In the space of a weekend, you will explore the emblematic places of the Vercors Regional Natural Park.

The recce of the course was done with a gravel bike equipped with 40 mm tires. This 555 will allow you to discover the Vercors in a unique way, to initiate you to the experience of gravel on a course mainly on asphalt with connecting sections of gravel (20% of the total mileage).

For this 555 Vercors, we recommend the following setup:

Mandatory Equipment

For your safety, you are required to bring the following equipment with you in order to participate in the race. The organization will ensure that you are in possession of the mandatory equipment when checking in the athletes and bikes.

1x 750ml Water bottle

1x set of 4 spare AAA (lithium) batteries (for the GPS tracker)
Bike GPS (Wahoo / Garmin type or equivalent)
1x bicycle helmet
1x front light (with permanent mode)
1x rear light (with permanent mode)
1x bicycle pump (mandatory even when using tubeless tires)
1x inner tube + 1x repair kit (patch + glue + tire lever) – mandatory even when using tubeless tires
1x pair of disc brake pads (or rim brake pads)
Water bottles for a minimum capacity of 1.5l of water (bidons, camel back etc.)
1x pair of gloves
Reflective clothing (eg: Audax vest, yellow safety vest…)
1x survival blanket
1x jacket or jersey with light rain protection, ideally with hood
Sunglasses with UV protection
Mobile phone and charging device (eg: dynamo or USB battery)
Passport + paper or digital copy of your passport (keep a copy of your passport in your personal cloud)

Find below useful information on the logistics and the schedule for the race.

Individual bike and equipment check: Friday July 29th from 8am to 10:30am
Pre-race Briefing: Friday July 29th from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Race Start: Friday July 29th at 12pm.
End of the race: Sunday July 31st at 7pm.
Closing drink: Sunday July 31st at 7pm.
