We aim at bringing help (equipment, social and logistics) to support the “Bomberos”, firemen from South America, through field actions identified by Non Profit Organization “Bomberos Sin Fronteras”.
In 2015, BikingMan founders, Leticia and Axel, have cycled across South America in 180 days, following the Andes Cordillera.
During their 13500 kilometers journey, in the remote areas of the Andes mountains, they have experienced the great hospitality and generosity of local people, especially the “Bomberos”, firemen of South America.
On the overall journey, they spent 116 nights in the wilderness and 26 nights hosted in firemen station. This generosity has lead to a great deal of discussions on their lack of means (equipment, vehicule and training). In 2016, this experience lead Léticia and Axel to sign a partnership with “Bomberos Sin Fronteras” french NPO to support field actions and help south american firemen.
This international NPO was created in 1991 by Serge Montesinos after a personal trip in Peru where he experienced the lack of means of local firemen and their urgent needs for equipment and training.
The NPO is specialized in supporting local communities development. It has helped supporting more than 400 field actions in 35 countries. PoSF, since its creation, has been building the missing link of international cooperation actions and worldwide humanitarian aid.
The goal : A crowdfunding campaign organized during a World Record Attempt to cycle across the length of South America. Because every kilometer matters, because every penny will be directly raised by Bomberos Sin Fronteros NPO, to finance field actions for a Chilean firemen station.
